Taranga: Revival Baluchari in Deep Teal
By Bishnupur's Master Weavers
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
The body holds its colour with quiet confidence, a deep teal katan silk with small ivory and navy circular butti placed at ease across the cloth, a floral border drawing the first line. Then the pallu unfolds and the full ambition of the weaver becomes clear. Band after band of resham work, figurative medallions carrying human and animal forms in ivory and navy, a wide paisley sweep, floral vines and a geometric border at the edge. Each band is a world. Together they are extraordinary.
Resham on teal does not glitter. It glows. And on this pallu it glows at full depth.
This is Bishnupur's Revival Baluchari at its most layered, a tradition that knows exactly how far it can go and goes there anyway.
Sourced directly from the looms of Bishnupur, Bankura. No middlemen, no blends, no shortcuts. Only the cloth and the hands that made it.
One garment. Two authors.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
