Rajata: Revival Baluchari in Silver Scrollwork Pallu
By Bishnupur's Master Weavers
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
Grey, when it is warm and woven in pure katan silk, is not a neutral. It is an invitation. On this canvas, small multicolour floral butti in saffron, navy and orange arrive like guests who know they are welcome, each one vivid and unhurried against the soft warmth of the ground. The border answers with full confidence, large silver and white floral scrollwork with turquoise circular accents running in a wide luminous band, modern in its restraint and entirely assured.
The pallu is where the weaver saves the best for last. Three bands of silver zari work unfold in sequence, scrolling florals with coral accents, sweeping paisley forms in teal and silver and a final band of teal blooms at the edge. On grey silk, silver does not overpower. It simply glows.
This is Bishnupur's Revival Baluchari, a living tradition choosing to move forward without leaving itself behind. The grey is not absence. It is the most considered colour in the room.
Sourced directly from the looms of Bishnupur, Bankura. No middlemen, no blends, no shortcuts. Only the cloth and the hands that made it.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
