Matsya: Magenta Kalakshetra with Fish Butti
By Bishnupur's Master Weavers
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
On a canvas of deep magenta katan silk, a fish and a bird share the cloth with the ease of old companions. The fish, round and wide-eyed, built in white and black resham, sits on one side. The bird, large and green, rendered dot by careful dot in dense resham, holds the other. Between them yellow geometric work keeps the rhythm. The blue panel above carries its own smaller butti and the pallu arrives in bold stripes of mustard, wine and purple, pulling everything into a single joyful conversation.
A saree with a fish and a bird in it. The kind of cloth that remembers where it came from.
Woven in Bishnupur, Bankura. No middlemen, no blends, no shortcuts. Only the cloth and the hands that made it.
One garment. Two authors.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
